1-2-1 TUTORING WITH JULIA GALLAGHER

Personal Statement

The qualities and skills that I have gained throughout my life, have taught me to be patient, easy-going, friendly, kind and considerate, but most importantly, to try and make all the hobbies and work I do to be interesting and fun for me and the people around me. I have an optimistic outlook on life and enjoy new challenges. As Assistant Director for a local Pantomime group I tutored a group of youngsters to help them to be more confident in playing their roles in front of an audience. As a Supply teacher I have travelled to and worked at many different Primary and Secondary schools ensuring that I followed each school’s policies and practices.

Voluntary Positions

I worked on a voluntary basis as a Classroom Assistant for 7 years at a primary School. An active member of the PTA at my children’s Primary School for some 12 years I was elected as Secretary for two years. We organized many fundraising activities to help to provide the children with extra facilities.

In 1996 I was a founding member of a committee to set up a Pre-school Playgroup at the Primary School. Through various fundraising events we opened in April 1997 and it is now in operation every day.

A cyber café was set up by Community Police officers in Hoylake to help to occupy 11 ~ 17 year olds, I helped to run this two evenings per week.
